At melting point

So here I stand at the side of my house, 5:45am and the sky looks like it has a volcano rumbling inside of those clouds, awaiting something or someone just to grab it.
Yet the morning being as early as it was could not motivate me to attempt to jump into it, grasp it and run off with it so I admired it.
As I make my move for the day, I end up at a friends apartment over looking the city; tWas 8:30 pm and the sky had looked as if the clouds had seperated, needing their distance after such a long and hard day.
Yet the melting of the color from one transition to another, is what it is..

  4. I love sunset/sunrise. I also love first light and twilight, the soft omnipresent blue sky light is beautiful. Grab yourself a tripod and give shooting in that a go.

I found these to be a bit too dark, I've made some tonal edits to show how i feel the image could be stronger and probably closer to how you saw the scene with your naked eye.

I've also cropped them; composition is about communicating your vision. It takes time and practice turning your subconscious vision into the conscious. When I'm framing a shot I think about what it is inside the frame that I'm interested in. It's an easy habit to try and add lots of points of interest, but we're simple beings, we like images to be orderly. Often more is just more and it detracts from what initially attracted your attention.

These are really promising images, with a little attention they can be great.

Notice in my edit of the city shot you get to see the gorgeous reflection of the river mouth.

  5. thanks dude!
i understand what you mean in the second photo by the composition, almost like getting to the point but re-directing the path your eye takes.
Almost like putting peoples eyes now, to when i took the photo as if they are there.
Did you use lighshop for these edits ?

  6. Please get into books! I'm no Tolstoy but it will bring your writing to the next level and help your commentary. Read High Fidelity or even Fight Club or perhaps Frankenstein to get you going!

  7. i have to agree with the first annonymous. are you illiterate or something. every phrase is a contradiction. and your explanations are superflous to the photos context

  8. Thanks for the thought, I've realised it is a need to
get more into my books by me starting this read i hope to continue through.
Any other suggestions for a good read?

  9. To the second comment I actually may be illiterate I wouldn't know I attempt
to read and write how i've been taught, hence the reason I need to read and absorb more to give me more meaning.
